Weather from the Klamath Basin
for the Klamath Basin

Good Morning, Klamath County!
This is your Local News Network weather update, bringing you the latest forecast as we wrap up the first full week of 2026.
After a relatively calm start to the new year, many of you are likely looking forward to what the next few days have in store, whether you are planning a trip to the slopes or simply preparing for the Monday morning commute.
As we move further into January, the Basin continues to embrace its winter character, and we are here to ensure you have the most accurate information to keep your family safe and warm. From the snowy peaks of the Cascades to the valley floor, staying informed is key during these colder months.
The weather for Sunday, January 11, looks to be a beautiful but crisp winter day across the county. We are anticipating mostly sunny skies throughout the morning and early afternoon, with a high temperature reaching approximately 41 degrees.
While the sun will provide some visual warmth, a light southeast wind at about 2 miles per hour will keep that winter chill in the air, so you will definitely want to keep those heavy coats handy if you are heading outdoors.
As the sun sets, the clouds will begin to thicken, and temperatures are expected to drop to a chilly low of 25 degrees. There is a slight 10% chance of light snow flurries moving in overnight, though no significant accumulation is expected for the valley areas.

Heading into Monday, January 12, we will see a transition to more overcast conditions as we start the work week.
The day will be characterized by mostly cloudy skies with a high temperature climbing slightly to around 47 degrees, which is quite mild for this time of year in the Basin. Winds will remain calm, shifting slightly to come from the east at 2 miles per hour.
There remains a small 10% chance of light rain showers during the day, so keep an umbrella in the car just in case. By Monday night, the clouds are expected to clear out, leading to a much colder overnight low near 29 degrees. This clearing trend suggests we might see some frost on the windshields for Tuesday morning, so give yourself a few extra minutes for the commute.
